We had such a wonderful time photographing Jennifer and Kris’ brunch wedding celebration several weekends ago in beautiful La Jolla. Jen and Kris are a sweet, fun and very creative couple – their wedding day was so relaxed and a just a unique celebration of their love! Congratulations, you two – hope you had a wonderful time in Cabo!

Last week we got to spend an incredible couple of days on Lake Powell on a houseboat! What an amazing place! We joined Deven’s brother and his girlfriend and one of their best friends and his family for 4 nights / 5 days – relaxing, exploring and soaking up the warm sun and the crisp water. It was a long 12-hour drive (with stops) each way for Colt, but we all survived; we even took the scenic route through Zion on the drive there – added it to our list of camping destinations! Once on the lake we took the boats about 40 miles northeast – it’s unreal how big Lake Powell is. Deven and I were overwhelmed with it’s grandeur and beauty. We found ourselves daydreaming the whole trip about how God designed and created so much uniqueness and detail. Can’t wait to go back someday when our kids are old enough to enjoy it more! Enjoy our photos. :)

Our little Colt man is 7.5 months old today! Can you tell we’ve been a little busy?? Just a few weeks behind on this post. ;) We just got back from a week on Lake Powell houseboating – such an awesome experience and a beautiful place! I’ll blog some photos from the trip later this week. Every month with our little guy is more and more fun! Let’s see… he’s weighing in at about 20 lbs still – all he does is burn calories all day long – climbing, crawling, standing – so it’s no wonder he’s lengthening out some! No longer the round baby we once had. :) He’s in size 4 diapers still and wearing all 12-month clothes and 12-18 month pjs! His white blonde hair is getting longer and I think I may even see a few of mommy’s curls in there. He’s mastered the crawl but is much more interested in climbing and standing than scooting around. I have a feeling he may be an early walker! He’s eaten sweet potato, avocado, banana, cantaloupe, egg yolk, chicken liver and his favorite is chicken and vegetable soup!

Oh and how could I forget?! We have our first tooth! Lower left little guy poked through right at 7 months and he’s working on a few more. :)

I feel so blessed and I’m so thankful that we have such a healthy little boy. We also celebrated Deven’s first Father’s Day last month and I’m so grateful I get to be a parent alongside him. He is such a hard worker and loves Colt and I so well. Here are some photos from our last month – including a weekend camping trip and even first swim lessons with auntie Heather. :)

Cory and Leon brought their three beautiful girls down to San Diego for a family session a few weeks ago. They hit a bunch of traffic coming down from LA, but we were still able to sneak this gorgeous session in about 45 minutes before sunset – the evening light is just so pretty! Cory hand-made all of the girls’ outfits (including hers) in the second outfit change – she is so creative! I love the whimsical feel of the dainty dresses and flower crowns… so cute and perfect for the girls. Cory and Leon, you have a beautiful family! :)

I’ve been dying to share these photos with you all! Jacob and Christin over at We Heart Photography did some portraits of our family a few weeks ago when Colt turned six months old. I’m so grateful to have some photos of the three of us together… since usually it’s either Deven or I taking pictures of one of us with Colt! If you are a photographer yourself and you are always the one photographing the kids… stop and book yourself a portrait session now. You can’t rewind to this stage of life again. I know we will be so grateful for these photos for decades to come! Oh how I love my men with every ounce of my being. Being Colt’s mommy and being loved by him is so rewarding and so fun! Of course, I am honored and humbled to be my husband’s wife too – he is an incredible, talented, wise, Godly man and an awesome dad. Jacob and Christin – thank you so so much for doing these photos for us! We hope you are having a blast on your European adventure right now! :)
