I had the privilege of doing a film mentor session a few weeks ago with a lovely young lady who had just invested in her first Contax 645 kit. We spent a few hours together going over the technical basics of the Contax, using a light meter, loading and exposing film, etc. My clients Bree and Chris were wonderful enough to drive down from Orange County to model for us during the shooting portion. I love when everything is this green in San Diego! It’s so beautiful right now. Enjoy the images… and if you’re interested in a mentor session (film or digital), go here for more info!

I’ve said it before, but I am always just so honored when my wedding and engagement clients return to me for photographs when they start a family. I’ve known Robin and Rob since their wedding four years ago and I am so excited for this new chapter in their life and the baby boy they are eagerly anticipating. Congratulations, you two! I can’t wait to meet him.

It was a joy to photograph Owen for his newborn session a few weeks ago. Congratulations to the new parents – he is so, so handsome.

We spent a fun little weekend out at Ocotillo Wells last month – it had been a year since our last tent-camping trip to the desert with friends. It was the perfect temp all weekend – not too hot and not too cold. Colt had a blast playing in the sand in his overalls for 2 days straight and slept like a baby when we got home on Sunday! It’s so much fun taking him camping now that he can walk and play and do more things – camping with a crawling baby is just not quite the same. ;) Now, camping with two babies… well, we’ll find out this summer!

I had the privilege of photographing this beautiful, young family last month just before the holidays. I’ve known Christine and her hubby Ryan for quite a few years now, and their little guy Van is just the cutest! The perfect combination of mom and dad, and so handsome. This is one of my favorite locations to shoot at in San Diego, and right now it’s a gorgeous green with all of the rain we’ve had! I would love to do some more shoots out here soon, so if you’ve been considering some family photos – don’t wait until the fall! Plus, check out the special I have going on on Instagram right now (@acresofhopephotography). :)
