Colt’s first birthday was last weekend! I can’t believe a whole year has gone by. Stay tuned for his “official” 1-year photos… they’ll be up on the blog once I actually take them and get them scanned and developed! It’s amazing how prompt I can be at photographing everyone else’s families, and how hard it can be to coordinate your own! Haha. Don’t worry – they are scheduled for this Sunday. ;)
We had a very casual party with family and a few close friends at a park on Colt’s actual birthday last Sunday. It was so much fun to celebrate this young man. He is such a happy, easy-going kid (most of the time!) and we are so blessed to have him in our family. I still remember his sweet, chubby face the night he was born and I was so filled with wonder. I reflect on that day and the next day with such joy. We had an amazing home birth that left me on an emotional high for days. My sweet Colt… happy birthday little guy.
I had the privilege of photographing this sweet couple’s engagement session a few weeks ago here in San Diego, and I can’t wait for their San Juan Capistrano wedding in May! You’ll see from these photos that Bree and Chris have such chemistry, and that they are so peaceful in each other’s arms! And all this after sitting in traffic for a few hours on the way to their shoot. They are just so beautiful together. Congratulations, Bree and Chris! I’m so happy for you guys!

I had the honor of documenting Katelyn & Chris’ beautiful wedding day at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe last month! These two make such a perfect match. They decided to write their own wedding vows and both Katelyn and Chris wrote beautiful vows that rhymed, without planning it! Their wedding day was laid-back and everything went so smoothly, which to me says that they are a couple that is more focused on each other and the joy they have found in being together than on every little detail being in order – although it was, thanks to the wonderful team at Couture Events! Congratulations, Katelyn and Chris! I’m so happy for you both!

It was such a joy for me to photograph this sweet, beautiful family again this year – and to watch their family grow! Kannon just celebrated his first birthday, and his big sister Kiana is just as full of smiles and personality as ever. I love the fall colors in this session. It’s finally starting to feel like fall in San Diego today!
