I photographed Ashley and Dom with their little boy Knox a few weeks ago at beautiful Scripps beach in La Jolla. Knox was such a great model for our shoot – I love his striking blue eyes and he is a big boy just like my Colt! Thanks for choosing me to document this time in your lives, Ashley and Dom!

Deven and I were so glad that we got to swing through Reno on the return leg of our road trip last month and meet Kayla and Pat’s little boy Arlo! He is such a sweetheart! We loved when Kayla and Pat lived in San Diego with us, but we’re so happy for them and their new life in Reno – new job, new house, new baby and they have a lot of family close by. We did their family photos in the neighborhood of the house they just closed on. Congratulations, guys – on everything! xoxo

Where do I even begin to chronicle all of the amazing places we saw on our road trip through the Pacific Northwest?! What an incredible trip. “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17), and I am so thankful to God for this sweet gift, this opportunity to explore nature with my husband and our little boy. We visited five national parks on the trip – Olympic, North Cascades, Mt Rainier, Crater Lake and Lassen – along with stops in Whistler, B.C., Bend, Or, Reno, NV, Sacramento, San Jose and finally, Big Sur. We stayed almost every single night in a new place and put over 4000 miles on the truck from start to finish. We took four weeks off of work, which we were simultaneously overjoyed and guilty about. Society has a tendency to make us think our worth and our success is in the hours we spend at our jobs, when the real reward is making memories like these.

We had so much fun touring the Pacific Northwest as a little threesome (with Denali in the back seat too). Colt did so great on the road despite being out of his normal routine. With each new place we arrived at, our jaws dropped even further towards the floor. God’s creation is so beautiful and magnificent, and this earth is so big, and we are so small and our lives so brief in the grand scheme of things.

Enjoy the photos…

I had the immense pleasure of photographing my friends and former wedding clients Caitlin and Dan with their beautiful daughter Emilia while we were in Sacramento during the end of our road trip last month! Miss Emilia has so much personality and spunk! She is quite the busy little girl, standing on her own at nine months and loves jamming to Taylor Swift. :) Caitlin and Dan, you have a beautiful family and we are so happy for you three!

A few weeks late on this post and I hardly have any photos to share because we were gone for nearly Colt’s entire 11th month on our Pacific Northwest road trip! And I’m blogging those tomorrow! It was the trip of a lifetime for sure! Colt was such a champ for the whole thing – day after day in the car seat driving from park to park. He is entering such a fun and exciting stage right now. He stands on his own for about 30 seconds at a time, but hasn’t taken those first steps yet. We bought him a Little Tikes slide and it’s currently in our living room – he taught himself how to climb up the three stairs to the top, sit down and slide down the slide! He is getting more and more talkative, eats three giant meals a day, and is weighing in at about 25 lbs. I can’t believe he will be one year old in just over two weeks. We took him to the pumpkin patch last week, and he even had his first sleepover at grandma and grandpa’s house while we photographed a wedding in Big Bear. The little guy is napping right now (that’s the only time I get any work done!), and my heart is just bursting with joy writing and thinking about him. We are a couple of lucky parents.
