Four Months with Boone

Our little Boone turned four months old last week! He is such a sweet blessing to our family. I must sound like a broken record, but he has truly brought such joy to us. He is rarely ever upset, smiles as soon as you look at him, sleeps like a baby, is enthralled with his brother’s antics – he is overall just an easygoing, happy little guy! He has started scooting across the carpet about 4 or 5 feet or so – not quite a crawl, just a scoot. He is active and always trying to grasp toys and explore the areas around him. He can now sit up in a Bumbo and even gets to play in the bouncer for a few minutes at a time. He is pretty strong and I think he could be well on his way to sitting up before 6 months of age. I weighed him last week but already forgot how much he weighs (second child problems lol). He weighed almost the same as his brother at birth (just 4 oz lighter) but he looks so much thinner than Colt did as a infant because he is so dang tall! I already have him in 6-9 month pajamas for the length. He is our tall, skinny beanpole – and Colt is most likely our football player. ;) Who am I kidding, our kids are only allowed to ride dirt bikes!

Meanwhile, Colt is starting to really love and enjoy Boone now that he can respond, laugh and engage with him a little more. I can’t imagine how much fun it’s going to be for them once Boone can sit up and play, then crawl after him, then walk with him, then run around and get into just as much mischief as him. It’s completely nutty having two little boys 18 months apart (let’s be honest), but I just know that they are going to be the best of playmates in their younger years, and hopefully the best of friends as they grow older.
