Isn’t this time of year just magical?! We are trying to do as many festive things as we can with the boys this year! We picked out our tree from Peter Gaughen’s tree farm here in Lakeside – we’ve purchased our tree here ever since we moved to this area. The price is higher than your big-box store but the trees are beautiful and we both like to support small businesses like ours! Plus Peter remembers us each year and it’s so fun to develop memories and relationships like that. I love Colt’s age right now – it’s so fun now that he “gets it” a little more. He loves looking at Christmas lights at night – you can just see the wonder in his eyes. I sure do love all three of my men! I am one blessed momma. :)

I love photographing families around the holidays. It’s such a fun (and busy!) time of year for me. But it is such a joy to document the growth of kids and families. I loved photographing this darling family of three at their beautiful new home in Temecula. Across the street is a grapefruit orchard that is owned by their family and we got to take some pictures there as well. Merry Christmas, everyone! Take some time this weekend to put a hold on the chores and the to-do lists, and have some fun with your family! :)

For a few years now we’ve spent Thanksgiving camping in our local mountains – it’s a tradition that we love so much! Cooking a turkey over the campfire and just relaxing and breathing in crisp, fresh air. We missed the year Colt was born (since he was only about a week old!) and we really wanted to this year but there was snow forecasted for our local mountains. Not an ideal combination for tent campers with two babies! So we passed and spent Thanksgiving at my wonderful mother-in-law’s home and drove up to the Laguna Mountains the day after Thanksgiving. Sure enough, we found snow! Colt is still not really a big fan, especially after dad accidentally nailed him in the face with a snowball. Lol! We enjoyed the stunning drive through the mountains dusted with snow; it’s always refreshing and inspiring to observe the beauty of nature.

I just finished designing a beautiful keepsake album for this sweet family of four so I thought it would be a great time to blog their family maternity session from a few months ago! Maternity sessions are some of my favorite shoots – and it’s even more fun with a big brother in the picture. :)

It’s always such a privilege to photograph the wedding of long-time family friends. I’m humbled to have photographed Elyse and Bryce’s wedding a few months ago – they are such a fun couple and it was a joyous day for everyone in attendance!
